Updates and Reminders:
• No Practice today, Friday May 3rd at PCC. (A 2-week class is finishing up today through this weekend there.) Normal Friday PCC practice resumes next Friday May 10th.
• This Saturday, May 4th, right after practice = cake party... celebrating Cascadia Swimming's 4th year Birthday!
• Practice this Sunday, May 5, at LOHS pool for all is 9:00am - 10:30am (dryland is 10am-10:30am). (pool is being used for another activity in our usual later time slot this particular Sunday)
• Albany Flakeboard Meet this Sunday am (May 4th) for those that are signed up for it. Go Cascadia!
• Saturday, May 11 - Hood River Meet

Starting Mon, Apr 22, PCC swim practices on Mon/Wed evenings will start at 7:30pm for everyone.
PS and AG1 swim to 8:30pm
AG2 to 8:30pm (optionally to 9pm)
Sen Prep and Seniors will still go til 9pm.

  -at the Milwaukie Elk's Lodge - $2 games and $1 shoe rentals- 1-3pm- also this may be our new home pool. It is just across the Sellwood Bridge off of McGloughlin in Milwaukie. They are looking to reopen the outdoor pool May 15. This is a huge facility with full court gym, two weight rooms, racquet ball court, full restaurant and bar, reception hall, full locker rooms just inside the building downstairs by the pool. I am writing a proposal for them now. They are also looking to put a bubble over it in the winter time.!!! We can then have our practice time earlier. Yay! I have requested between 4-7pm.

Canby Valentine's Meet Feb 10- Canby- see meet info- I will be sending entries on Wed 1/30. This is a split session meet with 10 & U in the morning and 11 & Over in the afternoon.
10 & U State Championships Feb 16-17- Springfield- see meet info. Swimmers must have an "A" time in individual events or swim in a relay which adds up to an "A" time standard. Those qualifying so far: Gabby Calvi 9yo, Gavin Hay 9yo, Lorenzo Spaccarelli 9 yo Congrats!
11-14 State Championships Feb 21-24- Corvallis- see meet info. I will be sending out the meet entries no later than Mon 2/11.
Swimmers must have an "A" time in individual events or swim in a relay which adds up to an "A" time standard.
Oregon City BC Championships March 8-10- Oregon City- meet info TBA Swimmers must have a "B" time or slower to enter this meet.

I hope everyone survived Halloween! We have a few reminders and practice updates to tell you. I have attached updates for November for practice schedules. PCC is not open on a couple days this month due to Holidays and LOHS has opened up some earlier time for us during a few days during the month. Please see the attached schedule of updates and also look at the website for our normal time schedule. We will be at LOHS tonight 6:30-8:30pm. Please see doc for details of the practice groups. I may have told a few people incorrectly about this Sunday practice. Sunday will be evening 5-7pm, see break out by squad. I am sorry this is jumping around a bit but we get what we can get and I'm trying hard to find any earlier time during the week that we can.

Daylight Saving this weekend Sun 2am- turn your clocks back 1 hour. We get an extra hour of sleep.

I will be holding DL practices on Tue/Thur 4:45-5:45pm at Luscher Farms through Nov 15. I should know more about time available at LOHS for DL on Tues and Thurs after that. I am looking at 4-5pm possibly.
We have had dry weather each practice so far.

Marta Hogart Invite hosted by River Road Swim Club in Eugene - meet info and entries attached- Please let me know if you can attend this meet ASAP. Last year we went to a wave park in Springfield called "Splash", which is similar to North Clackamas Aquatic Park, after the meet was over. It was a lot of fun. Right now we have only (3) kids signed up. If we don't have at least 10 kids going I will cancel the meet. I need to know by Sat Nov 3 by 4pm.

December meets- I'm looking at some alternate meets for December: Killer Whales- Longview, Wa (1 hr away) Dec 1-2; and Hillsboro Invite Dec 12-14 (45 minute away) to replace the TEAM Winter Open in Eugene. It seems families are not willing to travel :( I like to be able to swim against different teams/pools and have a variety instead of the same teams all the time. Also, the meets in the metro area tend to fill up faster or are closed and don't let in new teams very often. If we have more Stroke and Turn officials it makes our team more attractive to invite. Right now we only have 1or 2 officials on the team. I would like to have at least (5) Stroke and Turn Officials on our team.

Hi all,
Additional practices
I am adding a couple practices to our schedules and to make some clarifications. We will have a Dryland practice at an outdoor walking trail at Luscher Farms off of Stafford by the dog park. It is by the light to go to Lakeridge HS. We will meet from 4:45- 5:45pm tomorrow, Thur. Parents- you are more than welcome to walk on your own or take your dog to the dog park! If this works out we can do some next week. I am going to go there to day around that time and check it out and take Rex for a walk if anyone wants to join me.
I am adding a water practice at LOHS next week on Oct 2 8-9pm with DL before at 7:30. One of the water polo teams will not be there.
We have an option on Sundays to practice either 9-10am or 5:30-7pm thru the 1st week of Nov. Then, we have an option of 9-10am, 12-1:30pm or 5:30-7pm thru March. The pool has become available in the late afternoon evening. Please let me know which you would prefer ASAP? My choice is the later time because I can get the older swimmers longer water time and less conflict with those going to church. I am hoping we will have a another pool option during the week so we can drop Sundays but until that comes to fruition I want to have an option.

Meets
Our next meet coming up is the WSC Marie Dehoeg meet in Springfield. Oct 12-14. We I don't get at least 15 swimmers to this meet we will go to the back up meet which is the LOSC meet the same weekend. I need to know by this Friday about either meet. The CST meet in Newberg will be at the end of the month Oct 26-28. I will need to know by Oct 5 if you would like to attend.
Correction- Martha Hogart meet in November is in Eugene- not St Helens
